Judges

The VFF leaves a great freedom to the judges (4 per contest : two men and two women) and does not have detailed rules to decide between the candidates.

Criteria of judgment in body-building

The 4 fundamental criteria are always, in proportion defined by the championship itself :
  1. Development : Importance of raw muscular development in the judges' mark
  2. Hardness : Importance of muscular hardness (fat and adjacent muscles continuity) in the judges' mark
  3. Harmony : Importance of global muscular harmony in the judges' mark
  4. Posing : Importance of the posing (show on scene) in the judges' mark

Personality and subjectivity of the judges

Behind these official criteria, the judges have their own preferences and can privilege attributes in particular, or be more severe towards certain weaknesses. However, they are only nuances which cannot upset a classification.

To study the personality of each judge and to act consequently are thus an appreciable asset, but not determinant.
