Behind Neck Press

Basic exercise to work the shoulders, it is effective but is not appropriate for all morphologies. He works well the shoulders (mainly the Deltoideus, lateral part and the Deltoideus, posterior part but also upper back and triceps.
In case of difficulties, the use of Dumbbells makes it possible to better adapt the movement to his profile (the effort relates then less in the back, and more to the Deltoideus, lateral part).

Position of the body :

Sat on a Bench, the bust quite straight and the back resting on a back.

Position of the hands :

Overhand grip, inches generally placed behind the bar.

Movement :

To inspire during the downward phase and to endeavor to retain the load, to contract the abdominal strap to preserve the back straight. To stop behind the nape of the neck even higher, by taking care not to force on the shoulder joint.
To expire in a more dynamic ascending phase, without tightening the arms at the end of the movement to maintain the tension on the muscles and to spare the elbow joint.

This movement is also useful “to rectify” upper back, and thus to avoid becoming “uneven”.
